SALES & MORTGAGE VOLUME DOWNWARD TREND CONTINUES!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in March 2022 was down 16.9% from March 2021 volume and the total value of sales was down 12.6% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 11.7% from the previous year. There was a 42% decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from March 2021 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is down 18.8%; Total Value of Sales is down 14.1%; Individual Sales Value is up 16.3%; Mortgage Volume is down 39.4%.
Register Meade reports that there were 541 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in March 2022 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $409,261,649.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in March 2022 was $525,000.00.
There were 1,389 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in March 2022 with a total value of $664,072,535.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $310,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 651 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in March 2021 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $468,366,720.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in March 2021 was $470,000.00.
There were 2,394 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in March 2021 with a total value of $937,299,240.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $303,000.00.
