WINTER CHILL HITS NUMBERS! Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade,
reports that the volume of real
estate sales in February 2007 was down 10.3% from February
2006 volume and the total value of
sales was down 17.5% from the previous year.
The median individual
property sale value was down 8.9% from the previous year.
There was a 10.5% decrease
in the volume of mortgage activity from February 2006 levels. Year to Date:
Volume of Sales is down 2.6%; Total Value of Sales is down 10.5%;
Individual Sales Value is down 5.4%; Mortgage Volume is down 3.6%. Register Meade reports that there were 364 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in February
2007 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value
of $202,142,877.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00,
the median sale price of
property in There were 1,488 mortgages recorded with
values above $50,000.00 in February
with a total value of $469,092,155.00.
The median
mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $232,250.00. By way of comparison, in February 2006, there were 405
deeds recorded at the Registry of Deeds with stated sales
values above $50,000.00, representing a total value of $207,640,577.00
in county-wide real estate sales.
The median sales price, based on all property sales values above
$50,000.00 was $372,000.00. There were 1,662
mortgages recorded in February
2006 with values above $50,000.00with a total value of $721,547,100.00. The median
mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $216,800.00.
