VOLUME AND INDIVIDUAL SALES VALUE SEE SMALL DIP
Barnstable County Register of Deeds,
John F. Meade, reports that the
volume of real estate sales in December 2006 was down 3.9% from December
2005 volume and the total value
of sales was up 17.6% from the previous year.
The median individual
property sale value was down 1.8% from the previous year.
There was an 11.6% decrease
in the volume of mortgage activity from December 2005 levels. Year to Date:
Volume of Sales is down 22.3%; Total Value of Sales is down 11.3%;
Individual Sales Value is unchanged; Mortgage Volume is down 17.7%. Register Meade reports that there were 538 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in December 2006 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $318,617,238.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00,
the median sale price of
property in There were 1,883 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in December with a total value of $581,969,178.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $230,750.00. By way of comparison, in December 2005, there were 560 deeds recorded at the Registry
of Deeds with stated sales values above $50,000.00, representing a total
value of $271,047,547.00 in county-wide real estate sales.
The median sales
price, based on all property sales values above $50,000.00 was $356,550.00.
