VALUE AND VOLUME OFF!

volume of real estate sales in November 2005 was down 15.9% from November
2004 volume and the total value
of sales was down 18.4% from the previous year.
The average individual
property sale value was down 3% from the previous year.
There was a 4.7% decrease in
the volume of mortgage activity from November 2004 levels.
Year to Date: Sales Volume is down
8.3%; Total Sales Value is down 3.3%; Individual sales value is up 5.6%;
Mortgage volume is down 11.3%.
Register Meade reports that there were 571 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in November
2005 with stated sales values between $25,000.00 and $1,000,000.00,
representing a stated value of $220,461,201.00 in county-wide real
estate sales.
Based on all property sales valued between $25,000.00 and $1,000,000.00,
the average sale price of property in
Barnstable
County
in November was $386,097.00.
There were 2,392 mortgages recorded with values between $25,000.00
and $1,000,000.00 in November with
a total value of $542,901,876.00.
The average mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $226,966.00.
By way of comparison, there
were 679 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in November
2004 with stated sales values between $25,000.00 and $1,000,000.00,
