FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2017

SALES VOLUME & VALUE CONTINUE TO RISE!

Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in June 2017 was up 7.7% from June 2016 volume and the total value of sales was up 2.7% from the previous year.  The median individual property sale value was up 2.9% from the previous year.  There was a 8.5% decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from June 2016 levels.

Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 5.5%; Total Value of Sales is up 8.7%; Individual Sales Value is up 6.1%; Mortgage Volume is down 2.3%.

Register Meade reports that there were 900 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2017 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $419,910,461.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June 2017 was $360,000.00.

There were 1,222 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in June 2017 with a total value of $471,629,692.00.  The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $250,000.00.

By way of comparison, there were 836 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2016 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $400,930,702.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June was $350,000.00.

There were 1,335 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in June with a total value of $478,217,049.00.  The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $253,720.00.
