FOR THE MONTH OF JULY 2015

SALES VOLUME UP & VALUE RISE!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in July 2015 was up 19.6% from July 2014 volume and the total value of sales was up 3.5% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 4.9% from the previous year. There was a 14.3% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from July 2014 levels.

Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 2.6%; Total Value of Sales is up 0.6%; Individual Sales Value is up 1.9%; Mortgage Volume is up 24.2%.

Register Meade reports that there were 695 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in July 2015 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $308,761,504.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in July was $320,000.00.

There were 1,098 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in July with a total value of $348,420.480.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $240,000.00.

By way of comparison, there were 581 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in July 2014 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $298,360,330.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in July was $305,000.00.

There were 962 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in July with a total value of $311,564,472.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $230,000.00.
